The family-owned Piccini winery was established in 1882 by Angiolo Piccini.
In 1920, his son Mario continued its development by extending the company’s business across the domestic market in Italy. Piccini entered a second phase of rapid growth in the early 1960s, under the leadership of third-generation Pierangiolo Piccini. In 1983, Mario Piccini joined his father and helped make the U.S. market a priority, in a successful effort that strengthened the Piccini name.
Through the use of personal visits to American markets, on top of the production of high-quality wines, the Piccini winery has solidified the family stronghold on the Tuscan wine segment in the United States.
The Piccini winery is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico zone and possesses strong Tuscan traditions. Now in its 126th year of business, the Piccini winery torch has been passed down to the fourth generation of Piccini’s. New DOCG wines now complete the entire Tuscan portfolio including Chianti, Chianti Superiore, Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva and a new Super Tuscan, Sasso al Poggio and soon-to-be-released Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino.

Piccini Sasso Al Poggio
"Super Tuscan" is a generic term used to refer to great wines of Tuscany. The Piccini Family, whose dedication to excellence has been the guideline since 1882 in Tuscany, proves again that determination brings forth quality with Sasso al Poggio. A fascinating example of the Piccini winemaking tradition, Sasso al Poggio exemplifies a great Super Tuscan wine as well as character and personality. This wine explodes from the glass with scents of black cherry, licorice, earth, minerals and a stylish coating of valillin oak. Deep, full and lush on the palate, with core of succulent fruit, beautifully integrated tannins, and a long, complex, utterly profound finish.

Piccini Chianti Superiore
Chianti Superiore is on the thin line between Chianti and Chianti Classico. The Piccini Family is one of the few Chianti producers who made a choice for quality by producing Chianti Superiore—a new denomination introduced in 1996 that fits perfectly with the family wine philosophy that quality always prevails over quantity. The Chianti Superiore is a result of careful selection of the best Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot grapes. Hand-harvested grapes are immediately fermented in the modern cellar at the Piccini estate. A prolonged maceration with the skins give the wine complex aromas and a fruity nose. Bright ,light ruby-red, almost translucent. An elegant, layered complex nose with touches of bitter and sweet plum, black cherry and spices. Great balance and refinement on the palate. Long, lively finish. A lovely wine of great tenure, with a pleasantly dry and supple tannic flavor.

Piccini Chianti Classico
In a land of ancient traditions that was civilized in remote periods by the Etruscans, who left many traces of their activity in the wine sector, a legendary wine was created: Chianti Classico. Authentic because it originated in the territory of Chianti; certified because its production is heavily controlled from the vine to the bottle; unique because its quality and identity are protected in Italy and throughout the world and cannot be duplicated. Bright red with a hint of purple. Plum, violet notes mix with lush, ripe berries. Expansive and alive on the palate, with a lingering, velvety feel in the mouthl. The long finish is buried in fruit. A versatile wine.
